When we lose our dog, we feel like part of us has also died. It’s an emotion that’s difficult to process, no matter how many times you try to make sense of it. You deal with the pain, and as much as you want to move on from it, there’s just no chance of that happening. You eventually learn to live with the pain, and you slowly try to move forward.
Like many of us, famous actor Rob Lowe went through the different stages of grief when his dog, David Doodle, died August of last year. The actor uploaded a photo of his son, Matthew, holding the pooch with a tearjerking caption. People sympathized with Lowe and his family as they dealt with the loss of their beloved David Doodle.
Making room for new pets
In September, Lowe surprised everyone by announcing that his family will be welcoming two new pets. Knowing the new family members could never replace David Doodle, the actor wanted to make room in his heart for the pooches. It seems everyone in the family agrees with him since they gave him the go signal to adopt the pups.
Lowe uploaded a video of the pups exploring their new environment and getting acquainted with the other four-legged members of the Lowe family. Both dogs were so adorable that Lowe’s family quickly fell for their charm. As they spent more time with the dogs, they realized they made the right decision by welcoming them to their home.
Owen and Ed
Lowe eventually named the two Artemis German Shorthaired Pointers “Owen” and “Ed.” He’s so into them that he would frequently take photos and videos of the dogs and share them with his IG followers. Check out Owen and Ed’s first day at the Lowe household below:
